Why powder coat? First off, handling of the lead is CLEANER when reloading. Secondly, NO LEADING in your barrel! 2 patches and your barrel is clean in a typical 100-bullet firing session. Third, Alox is messy sticky stuff! I'd rather take a little extra time and make the bullets look nice. I...

back when that was built, all there was were cast bullets, unless it is some modern replica and even that should be good to go.Comment

The 03 was shot with jacketed ammo. Cast works just fine and wont lead if done right. I like the 173 and up with gas checks, cast them hard and use a good lube unless your hunting with them. That's another part.Comment
