    REMINGTON 788

Can anyone say why there's two type of trigger that the 788 used, Is it because of being the earlier model and later model? I had swap my earlier trigger out for an later model because of the way it's looks and built. Yes their isn't really a point of doing this swap but I did it anyways.
The original one came with the 788 is the uninstall one and new one install is currently on the 788.

I've owned a 788 since 1975 and didn't know that they came with different trigger assemblies.

      Here are a couple pictures.
If you look at your photo there is a sear cutaway on one trigger and a more streamlined safety. Canjar was a popular option as well.

Yes I've seen it... It locks up better than the original one that came within the rifle. I was going to get the Timmy trigger but since I'm using it only for hunting I kept it originally and I like having a heavy pull than light due to when the rifle is off safe. Trying to keep it safe when the animal is not an keeper

Not a fan of ugly guns

But, have always been tempted by the accuracy of the 788

I have a few of them, one is in 222 Remington. Its best won't out shoot my Cooper 21's best on paper, but it shoots pretty much everything very well and no tin can is safe out to about 250 yds. The older 788s had walnut stocks and looked pretty good. Even some of the hardwoods had OK finishes. Some unfortunately were lightly stained and folks refinishing them has kind of diminished the supply.
