One or two piece mount on a Remington 700

I bought a Remington 700 a few years ago to learn how to do some medium-long range shooting (500-1000 yds). It's just been sitting in my safe since I purchased it. I haven't put a scope on it yet, as I wanted to gather enough money to buy a nice scope. In the meantime, I bought a Seekins one-piece mount, and was just getting ready to put it on, when I realized that the distance from the mount to the action would make it difficult to load. Is this something I will just have to deal with? or would it be better to get a two-piece mount?
Thoughts?

If one piece doesn't work for you go with the 2pc. I used both and they're all fine.

Personal preference I suppose. I've known people with two piece mounts that shoot better than I do.

I've always put one piece steel rails on any rifle I've scoped and have just accepted the fact that I would have to adapt to the limited space for loading. In my case it's even more pronounced because I've got gorilla hands.

It just means getting accustomed to feeding from the side and pressing down into the mag rather than the luxury of straight down from the top.

I used to like the 2 piece bases for hunting due to the clearance it provide loading the internal magazine. Now I just settle with one piece base.

I have both. Truthfully I haven’t had any issues with the one piece. And the two piece rifle shoots really well for my so I won’t be so against them should I need another.

I use rings for my bolt guns and one-piece mounts for my semis.

I lapped my talleys and honestly they were good to where it didn’t need it

How were you thinking of loading the chamber? I can't imagine the scope mount would hinder access to the port.

Stick to your one piece mount for long distance shooting. Less parts and more rigidity will only benefit you. You'll be taking your time anyway while shooting LR so no need to rush when loading rounds. I'd even subject single feeding them instead of packing the internal BDL box on the 700.

My gunsmith put a one piece rail on my R700 Police a very long time ago.

I din't like it because it made access to the ejection port iffy.

I put in a set of two piece bases.

Well, duh? The one piece, when properly installed, actually stiffens the action. I din't think of that.

One piece it is now and forever more, and usually with a 20 or 30 minute slant.
