New Bolt Action Brass Catcher for positional parctice

Winds someone said at the end gusted up to 32mph.. lots of rain and mud, but we had a good time.

BTW in transparency they sponsored the stage.. but I am posting because I thought it might be cool especially for practicing when the grass is really tall or the area rocky etc.

Video just before the storm came rolling in and the rain gear came out

I use the caldwell brass catcher on my AR and tac star unit on the Tikka bolt action, both available from Midway.

I'll wait for the version that allows me to attach my dope card to it.

Lol funny you say that he has Velcro for that (like adding the sidewinder dope card holder) - but I think he had is name or some patch on it instead.

I spent 13 stages (14 with the Accu-Shot Challenge) watching him when I was not on deck across a bunch of obstacles. Other than forgetting his arm-board (dope holder) where he had to call an audible and use the match book and where he kept a cool head, the brass catcher seemed to work well.

Here are some random stage photos. The truck stage was taken in the am before the match started as it went on, the blue sky disappeared and we got a tornado watch on our cell phones..

Ps we all had long range radios in the squads for the areas the cells did not work

I've yet to shoot my first PRS match but I should be ready in 2020.

Does it catch the brass or just keep it from flying off?

Shooter shown is SF native Chris D well after the match showing off his $45 Everyday Snipers cup he grabbed from the prize table. Some people peeled off before the prizes were handed out so I think every one who staged walked the table

I have wanted a brass catcher for a bolt gun, but was always thinking it was never done because he case could potentially bounce back into the action. This happens to me on occasion when shooting off a backpack when squirrel and coyote popping. Hard to tell from the pictures, but is there an extended frame that could prevent this from happening from what you saw?
