Threading a rifle barrel vs Aftermarket threaded barrel

So I pose this question to anyone with experience in customizing their rifles (generally talking about bolt guns).

Is there any concern with accuracy or rigidity when threading the muzzle of a barrel? I've thought about having a gunsmith do it to a rifle with a very light barrel taper, probably a #2 or #1 on a Savage.

Regardless of the fact that it is a Savage, where barrel swapping is relatively easier to other commercial offerings, I'm just wondering if there has been any research or suggestions that say accuracy or integrity of barrel becomes worse.

I suppose for redef I will say it is a Savage Lightweight Model 16, or Light weight storm might be the new name under Model 10. I want to gift it for a wedding present to the bride, and I think a muzzle brake would help.

Any advice or input would be appreciated.

The main time you run into accuracy issues is on threads that leave a very thin wall under the threads AND when the muzzle device it put on tight enough to stretch the barrel.
This primarily occurs on 22 rimfire barrels where a weaker steel is used and on 9mm barrels where there is only about 1mm of barrel wall thickness under 1/2" threads.

Otherwise, there is usually not a problem.
This is not to say that a muzzle brake won't change the accuracy though.
If you have developed a load that shoots the best and you add a brake, the load preference and the zero is going to change from the extra weight you added to the barrel.
Plan on re-zeroing and re-developing the load.
After tweaking the load, the accuracy will usually be the same or even better, but its very uncommon for accuracy to decrease from ADDING weight to a barrel.
