    Weird request...

I purchased a Tikka t3x light in 6. 5 Creedmoor and it's in route to my FFL. It's the non threaded barrel version. I'm looking to purchase a Witt machine clamp-on muzzle brake for it. Instructions on the website say that I need measurements of the outside diameter at the muzzle and an inch and a half back from the muzzle. would anyone that has that rifle be able to take those measurements and PM me? Would be much appreciated!

Youtuber West Desert Shooter had one on his Tikka. Maybe he still has the dimensions and can give them to you.

All you need to make those OD measurements is a micrometer and a tape measure or ruler. SOMEBODY you know has one, probably an old non-digital one. That would take about two minutes to do. Or you could ask your local gunsmith--it would take him two minutes and unless he's a real A-hole, he wouldn't charge you!

I have a T3 light stainless in .270. Not sure if it’s the same, but let me know if you want those measurements.

I think you missed the part about him not having the rifle yet...

If Witt machine is asking for dimensions. They know Tikka may have used different barrels for certain models or may have changed the dimensions for a different year.

Wait till you get your rifle. And give them your barrel dimensions.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

The brake is universal, they don't have a "Tikka model". They make it once you give them specs.

Yeah I have a micrometer, just not the rifle yet. Witt machine is having a sale on them at the moment ( $71 instead of $89) just wanted to get in while the gettin's good. I have the front dimension .635 just need the measurement at 1-1/2" back.

Different calibers often have different diameters.

Rather than getting a clamp-on brake that blows off the end of the barrel in 100 rounds, just get the barrel threaded for a real brake that won’t fall off.

I just do not understand the clamp on crap on a precision rifle, or well, anything

looks like he's raised his prices substantial. Nice looking breaks though. I've thought about threading the barrel, just not for sure on how much material is there to do it. Also I may re-barrel shortly after I get the rifle, depending on its performance. It's a Sporter barrel after all. Clamp on, seems like the best investment for my circumstances at the moment imo.
