    My favorite lever gun(s)...
Either the Savage 1899 Saddle Ring Carbine in 30WCF (30-30) from 1912; or the Winchester 94AE trapper in 44mag from 1991.

For good measure I will also add the Ruger Number 1 RSI in 7x57.

    Best regards,
    870classic.

Not a single Browning BLR mentioned and many believe it to be the finest lever action made.

I've got a BLR in .308. It is an excellent rifle but I don't think of it as a "fun" gun. It is a great hunting rifle but a bit heavy as a plinker. Plus, .308 is kind of expensive to be "fun".

For a plinker id look at a 22lr, in either a lever or a pump.

Beyond that the Marlin94c is fun 38/357

Past that I prefer in order Savage 99 300sav, Marlin 1895cb, and lastly Win94 30-30.

Some time back had fun shooting a friends 218bee, I think in Marlin

I do reload so 405gr softballs in the .45-70 is not expensive, but the rifle just isn't super fun. I'd also like something that kids and new shooters can have fun with, and the .45-70 is a little heavy. I have zero plans to use this rifle as anything other than a plinker, have plenty of rifles for every conceivable other use.

I've got a LOT of .38 brass and am thinking of a .357 lever gun, but what's the most fun lever you guys own? Would like to keep it under $1000. Basically, open to any and all options from rimfire to .45-70 in any make and model. What is your favorite plinking lever action?

I visited a calgunner recently... we had never met before but he is a site Contributor here.

This particular man is former Mounted Cavalry and has also seen tours in the sandbox. While I may never be half the man he is, we share similar tastes in firearms. His lever collection though small is very diverse! and within it lies some esoteric as well as several .45-70 Government-chambered items. The highlight for me however was a rare and somewhat minty Marlin 1894 .41 Mag 18" octagonal barrel carbine. I nearly died. I hope to find one of those! one day.

I also had the pleasure of meeting another calgunner, afteractionreport.

Cheers to you! jfwlb! and aar! if you fellers read this.

                Rossi carbine in .45 colt

Weighs under 6 lbs empty. Slim, handy and accurate.

Those big .45 slugs are easy to see downrange.

i only have one lever gun, a winchester model 88 (similar).

i'd like a pistol caliber model that isn't so expensive to shoot.

I have a Marlin Cowboy 45- 70 26" barrel. My most fun slickest lever is my Marlin 44-40 20" barrel with full black powder loads.

kendog, that's cheatin'! LOL, that is a shooter to be sure.
After shooting last week in the desert, I have to say my favorite lever is my Henry .45 Colt. Awesome to shoot and no recoil. Accurate.

Marlin 336W 30-30. It's has the Williams aperture sight on it and can hit the 12" plate @ 110yds. It's da bomb.

Winchester/Miroku 1892 in .357. I paid $859.00. So slender, so smooth. Shoots brass almost as far as lead.
