    CZ 527 Lux .223

Came into some money and it was burning a hole in my pocket so I ordered up a CZ 527 Lux in .223.

I no longer hunt, I'm all about fun shooting rifles that don't kick too much these days. The range I belong to has steel to 550 yards and I enjoy trying to hit the dinner plate size targets. Mostly I miss past 300 yards with my 4x scope.

I've always liked the hump back Bavarian style hunting rifle since my days in Germany back in the late 70s. Something about this rifle appealed to me.

I'll have time to acquire the scope and rings since rings since it is a special order which may take 4 weeks or more. Thinking about getting a non tactical looking compact scope that won't overwhelm the classic lines of the rifle. Any suggestions?

Image is from the web since mine is on order.

She’s a beauty! My cz carbine 527 in 76239 is wearing tikka rings and works like a charm. They were free as I had them from my tikka and a lot lower.
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Leupold 2-7 or 1-4 would probably look good on it.

I’d do 3-12 if you want ring steel at 300+ yards.
If you want to keep the smaller, 2-8x32

I have always thought these stocks beautiful. I'm a fan of the 527; I too own and love to shoot my 527 Carbine in X39.

Congrats! on a great chambering for that rifle, and for what you want to do with it. Sounds like a wonderful time. Better post some targets! when you get there.

I have the 527 Carbine mounted with Warne rings and a Leupold 2-7 rimfire scope.

Another CZ 527 Carbine fan here except mine is chambered for .223 REM. It has a 3-9x32mm scope mounted with Warne rings.

I love my carbine in 5.56. I love CZ bolt actions. Congratulations on the luxe!

I've got a similar rifle (The CZ 527 FS, recently discontinued) and a similar question. I want to take it out to 300 yards max, but probably mostly be at 100 yards. Been considering either a 1-4x from Leupold, or possibly their fixed 2.5x, but am not sure how much I want to spend.

While I like smaller lighter simpler scopes. Not sure I’d want 1-4 or 2.5 if I ever planned on 300 yards. IMO 2-7 or similar gives you lots options.
                      But to each his own.
VX2 Is being discontinued so look for deals

I use a Leupold Mark AR 3-9x with milrad reticle on my Carbine.

3-9x is kind of like the classic staple variable hunting scope and if pairs well with classic lines and action of the 527. I've shot squirrels and rabbits at close to 300 meters with it.

With 3-9x I'm covered adequately from medium game to pest control and can see my hits on splatter targets at 100 easily when target shooting. It's kind of a jack of trades scope for a jack of trades rifle.

Leupy VX3i 2.5x8 for the win. Great looking scope, very clear, good eye relief and light as heck. My "hunting" AR wears one.

You are going to want the lowest rings you can find with that comb on the stock.

And there's a million good cheap 3x9 scopes out there. 9x will reach out quite a ways and 3x is perfect for deer at 150ish yds.
