    AI AXMC?

I think I found the solution to wanting to get into long range shooting yet still be able to hunt/ shoot targets cheaply. The accuracy international AXMC. .338 lapua with a .308 conversion in 2 minutes.

Alright, weight aside what are your thoughts on it for long range precision shooting? Sounds like it’s pretty much set right out of the box. Trigger upgrades?

That is a sweet setup right out of the box. I would shoot it and see how it feels to you...see how you like it. Also, make sure that the conversion kits are available.

The cost of the rifle plus conversion kit or kits pretty high but you get a whole lot of rifle for the money.

It is a really nice rifle. I hope you do pick one up. It’s definitely something that’s on my “to buy” list.

Sweet. Yeah I imagine laying hands on one before I buy it will be very challenging here. I’ve already talked with mile high and they have the 308 conversion kits in stock and “reasonably priced” (cheaper than I expected).

Sounds like I’m sold already. Now I just have to save up for two months to afford it.

I take it hand loading is pretty much a must, especially where we live?

Awesome rifle system. I would suggest it to everyone who is willing to spend the money.

You can buy a competition trigger for a much lighter trigger pull for $400, can switch from single to 2 stage also. But you may like the factory trigger as is or just a small adjustment is all you need.

I pack my rifle to hunt with. I hike in the trinity alps as well as Out of state hunts. I use the AI biathalon sling and works well to distribute weight. I can travel all day with the axmc and my gear. Their other harness/Maverick system, can give your rifle protection in extreme conditions.

IMO it may be the last precion rifle you buy until they release the Cheytac capable system.

Please share when you get it.

I have an AX308, which is basically the short action version of the AXMC. It's a great rifle but I prefer my hunting rifles lighter. It can do the job if you're willing to hump all that weight on a hunt.

If you drive to your fixed firing point and don't have to carry the rifle all day, that would work fine.
There is no way to get an AI light enough to make it fun to carry all day.

You should REALLY get hands on one before you buy one.
Many people find a traditional target stock much more comfortable than a pistol grip.
Go take a precision rifle class.
There will likely be all manner of guns there and you can usually ask the owners to get behind them for a couple shots.
Don't spend the money on ANY high end rifle without getting behind one first.
