For a no thrills hunting rifle I like the one piece style mounts.

Either Talley or DNZ is the go to for Tikkas

Talley. All the way. All of my Tikka's have them- the factory rings are fine but the screws are crap and I don't really care for the DNZ mount at all.

I have a scope mounting business. Most people have their pet favorite mount which they tout as superior to all others. In reality there are a number of companies making excellent bases and rings of EQUAL quality which happens to be excellent.

Burris, Talley, Warne, DNZ, Leupold, EGW and Weaver.

If you have to go all custom bingo like all the cool kids may I have your useless factory rings please ? - Thanks

Since you asked. On my .243 I'm pretty sure I used Talley in low profile. Puts the 50mm scope less than 1/8" off the barrel. Needed very little lapping to get full contact.

Great looking whip, thanks for posting. What scope is that? A VX3 with a CDS in silver?

Thank You.. Yes it is a VX-III 4.5x14. I have had the scope for quite a while. Last Winter I sent it to Leupold for the CDS retrofit. Fun addition but haven't had the chance to play with much past 300 yards.

Talleys are aluminum, yes? They have enough oomph to handle the load?

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I use Talleys on 2 bull barrelled tikkas and factory rings on light T3.
