Thread Protector for Rem 700 HB 223

Am going to have Randall thread the barrel on my new Rem 700 HB 223 along with other work. I need to source a thread protector before I drive down to have him do the work. Unsure what I should get.

If you take your new brake with you. He can time it at the same time..
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I bought a Down Range TP off Amazon for an AR grendel upper. Very nicely finished piece. FWIW I bought a smooth one. Can't stand the look of knurled on the end of a barrel. If you get a smooth one of the same or slightly smaller diameter than the barrel it looks pretty sharp.

The 1/2-28 version will look like this:

I think they also make a version with flats on one end, if you feel a need to torque it down a bit. For mine I just added a dab of Locktite and cinched it down using channel locks, with rawhide to protect the surface.

+1 for the above. Everything I have purchased from Downrange has been a perfect fit and finish, that's the reason I always recommend them.

Thanks for the replies/suggestions. I reached out to baih777 via PM for advice and ordered a Surefire ProComp 556 Brake on his recommendation. Will have Randall install it when I head down South to let him work his magic.
