    700 recoil lug input please.

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Any lug will work or could be made to work with the barrel and action.
The question is more about the stock or chassis.

If you want a lug that works with any stock or chassis, my recommendation is a PTG 0.228" (or 0.2285" if that's what they label it these days) lug with parallel sides.
That lug will fit into ANY stock and ANY chassis without additional work.
The lugs with tapered sides often cause fitting problems.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
    Most work performed while-you-wait.

A 0.228" thick recoil lug with parallel sides was used on my new barrel.

Why do the tapered sides cause issues? Are they wider near the top?
