A BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED FOUR-BARRELED COMBINATION VIERLING GUN IT HAS TWO 8X57R RIFLE BARRELS ROUGHLY EQUIVALENT TO THE 30-06 SPRINGFIELD CARTRIDGE ONE 22 HORNET RIFLE BARREL AND A SINGLE 20-GAUGE SHOTGUN BARREL.

Commonly known as a "drilling", and not at all uncommon in Europe. Closest thing I've seen in the U.S. is one of the Savage rifle-shotgun combo guns.

These are popular in Europe due to overlapping hunting seasons and because many countries limit the quantity of firearms an individual may own. A switch barrel rifle or a 'Dreiling' (from 'drei' German for three) gives a hunter flexibility and allows one firearm to fill several roles.

In South Africa, the 'cape gun' was typically a large bore shotgun barrel next to rifle barrel giving the appearance of a double barrel rifle/shotgun but with a rifle and shotgun barrel.
