best bipod for ruger precision rifle?

I just bought a ruger precision rifle and want to get a bipod for it. I was the best value (not cheapest, not most expensive.)

I'd like it to pan, tilt, swivel.

    Which exact one?

    thanx!!!

I use a Harris Pivoting Bipod. Easy on/off and works with several rifles.

Pan, tilt, AND swivel? What's swivel?

I was going to suggest you get this type from your favorite vendor:

Doesn't pan/traverse though. You would have to spend some extra money for a rotating adaptor. Panning might be an overrated concept though. Unless you plan to set multiple target way out there and want to be able to hit them in rapid succession.

BTW, the bipod above is 9"-13" tall. Probably the best all around height. Since you said panning I assume you won't be shooting from a bench, and bench shooting is mainly what those short (6"-9") bipods are for, IMO.

And maybe get a lever for the tilt tensioner. It's a nice feature. You might try the bipod first though to see if you think you need it.

so I don't know all the terminology! I think what I was supposed to say was either pan and cant or pan and tilt... (and I still call that whole thing... you know... the brass, powder, etc... that I put into my gun a "bullet" I don't have any clips though!)

i'm new to bench shooting.... so I just want to get decent (but not the most expensive) items. someone had mentioned the pan and tilt as something good to have.

OK.... that one keeps coming up in my internet searches....

            Yes... from a bench.

So the panning part is left to right movement then? so shooting targets all in a line but lined up and shooting left to right? I don't see me shooting them with the RPR rapidly...

I've started to see not so good things about the magpul???? I (back) ordered one of those from brownell's.... but now i'm seeing people say that the reviews aren't so great? however, i'm yet to find any reviews from folks other than the guys who got them early from magpul????

so I was going to cancel that backorder based on people saying they aren't so great and get something everyone loves.

                    ATLAS.
                    BT46-LW17 (Includes ADM 170-S lever)
If you ever take it afield, get the BT-22 leg extensions.

I've used various Harris models over the years, and for field hunting rifles they are fine. IMO, for your RPR the Harris are too light. I went to the Atlas when I aquired my RPR in 6.5, based upon recommendations from folks into long range shooting, and while attending classes. The Atlas is a more precise accessory, and very high quality in terms of engineering and machining. It offers more useful shooting positions than the Harris. They have a very good video that shows practical applications.
YES, IT COSTS MUCH MORE. But it is not the most expensive. It is however worth it for when you go further. You have a good rifle, hopefully a good optic and matching spotting scope, a good cleaning kit, good ammo, so why short change yourself for the bipod?

Being more expensive or having better marketing (Atlas) does not make a bipod better.
Being more solid and lighter (Harris) is what makes a bipod better.

I’m really liking Atlas new CAL bipod. It has a nice wide stance which is a great plus especially if your staying off a bench. Does not have the pan but really how much do you plan on using it.
