Lever action with restricted magazine tube?

Hey All,

Just picked up a used Rio Bravo Model 92 from Taylors in 357. 20 inch barrel etc. This should be a 10 round tube but I couldn't get more than 5 in the rifle. Got it home from the range and disassembled the feed tube and there's basically a factory restrictor rod attached to the tube plug to restrict it to 5 rounds. Spring is standard length. Anyone know what state would restrict a lever action to 5 rounds?

I can simply cut this off or hopefully unscrew it from the end plug. Everything else is stock. I've never seen that before.

I always thought that was a hunting type restriction?

Not sure who's hunting with a John Wayne large loop lever but people buy Hi-point pistols still so.....

The only tube restriction in ca is for bird hunting. Take the restrictor rod out and load it up.
My 24" 357 Rossi hold 13..
