Rossi R92's are making a come back

Yeah, the Henry looks do throw me off.

Curious. What looks threw you off? I'm looking at one tomorrow, the brass receiver/octagon barrel[20"], no silly recoil pad. .357/.38. Hope I like it.

Well, I liked it enough to buy it. $600.00 OTD. When I pick it up that is. Hardly a mark on it. Was manuf. in Nov 2016 according to the folks at Henry. Bore looks excellent, fit and finish are superb. Innards, from what I can tell look like new.
Can't wait to get it out to the range. And now for a beer. Yeaa!

Thats a good price I like the Henry guns, I also like the tube fed guns over the loading gate guns, they're easier on my fingers.

Rossi use to make their .454 R92 models using both gate fed and tube fed. I'd like to see more manufacturers go this route.

I just had to go fancy and buy the Taurus clone of the Colt lightning. I actually lucked out, it runs 100% perfect, just can't handle real hot loads.

Any chance we can see a picture ? I'd love to get one of these, but as you know they don't have the best record. I've hoped that Henry would make them in 357..

Edit: it’s a 24” .45 colt. 15 in the tube plus 1. It has no sear disconnect so if you hold the trigger it fires upon closing the bolt. It’s not my favorite gun I own but for $285 it was well worth it.

I agree, that gun looks like it would be fun, probably faster than a lever gun.

The .454 and maybe the .480 are the only R92 models that have that feature.

That's what ya get for not paying attention to the other's, but the 454 Casull is my only Rossi'92. Think I'll keep it.

When you are ready to step up to a quality "true" Winchester model 92 clone, dump the Rossi's. Seek out and buy a Browning B-92 and you will never be happier.

Nah... I picked up a Winchester 92 in 44-40.. You can keep the Browning... :-)

Got me there! Congrats! A original Winchester 92 wouldnt have worked as I wanted a lever action in .44 mag/special in a saddle scabbard to complement the .44 mag S&W Mountain gun I carry when in the high Sierras / Sequoias on horseback and I refuse to have one with a tang safety.

You must not be familiar with these, then. No one who knows anything about Miroku Winchesters would say that. Especially about the ones built circa 1980... no tang safety, all Winchester and manufactured to an even higher standard than the originals... and chambered in .357 and .44 Magnums.

I own and shoot both a Rossi 92 in .357 and a Miroku Browning 92 in .44... as well as two Marlin 1894s.
