Why do you want to replace the stock already?

I'm not sure you can "convert" the action to left-handed. Even if you could, it would be expensive.

I'd keep the ammo, sell the rifle and scope, and use the proceeds to buy yourself a rifle with a left-handed action. Or perhaps keep the scope and the ammo and sell just the rifle.

What kind of shooting were you planning to do with the Browning and what caliber were you interested in?



As for changing out the stock, I have the same question as sd_joe: Why?

I’m not a fan of the wood look. Was thinking maybe bell and Carlson. That’s all that’s out there. Shooting wise I just shoot steel or paper. I don’t hunt, not yet at least. I really want a Remington.700 in 308. Like I said I paid 300 cuz the dude was moving and didn’t like the rifle.

A lot of people like wood. Leave it as is and sell it if what you really want is a left-handed plastic Remington.

I'm left handed and own only right hand rifles (except for one K31). Keep it and enjoy it. Nice rifle.

Not salty, but you have something that's far from what you want. Spending money on it won't turn it into a left handed Remington. My solution is fairly quick and very easy. It's easy to just go out and buy a left handed Remington.

Your A-Bolt is one hell of rifle. The wood was usually top notch! You'll have no problem getting your money back out of it. I'd take it off your hands if you lived in Northern CA.

I have a A Bolt .270 from about the same year. Mine has several hundreds of rounds through it with out a hiccup. Not sure what parts you are worried about breaking, there's not much to break in a bolt action. I was looking at the Boyd's "At One " stock for a Ruger 10-22. They also have them for the A Bolt.

I agree with Sig Stroker. In my past I've tried to make it rifle that wasn't what I want into something I wanted. It never really worked out all that well. I say sell it and buy what you want.

Thanks for the input guys. Sorry for the salty remark, people in our 2A community can be *****s at times especially with newbies. Not that I’m entirely new. I will give the rifle a try, if not I will sell this one and get myself a “Tacticool Magpul 700.
