Remington 30-06 Long Range, first impression.

    Folks,

I started my 10 day on my Remington Long Range in 30-06. I gave the rifle a thorough once over. I inspected the barrel, it had the usual oil/grease was not able to bring my cleaning rod. But was able to look at the first couple of inches at the crown.
Stock fit was excellent, outward metal finish was great. No rust, the bolt races looked great, bolt face was clean smooth. The visible portion of the chamber looked good. The X-mark Trigger is ****. My Timney arrived today.
It is going to have the Timney trigger, a scope rail, and an SWFA Super Sniper 10x42 Tactical MOA with SS medium rings and Harris bipod. A2

Those have been a really good value lately.
I saw them for under $500 somewhere the last couple months.
It's been hard to get into ANY heavy barreled 700 in a legit fiberglass stock for less than $700 until now...

Yes, deals like this one with a stainless barreled action in an HS Precision stock almost make me want to consider a Remington. almost.
