    CZ 527 update

Skips over the third round on almost every magazine. Let's see how CZ customer service is.

On a positive note Warne's 16mm dovetail QD rings are of excellent quality and were very easy to install. U previously only had experience with their one piece flat top mounts.

Wouldn't hold your breath. I contacted them 2x because the magazine that came with my 527 in 7.62x39 had a different, much weaker spring than in the magazine I bought separately from Optics Planet and it wouldn't function properly.

They just ignored me and I didn't even get a "sorry, can't help you" email.

What is the difference between any mag that seems to work, and those that don't?

Kinda wishing I had went with the tried and true Remington 700 right now.

Magazine/spring on the left came with the rifle. Right side aftermarket.

^^^^^^My $$ says it is the springs. I've never had any issues with either of my 527's, nor the dozen mags.

My 527 Varmit in .223 has no issues feeding. My 527 carbine in 7.62x39, will miss the pickup of a round now and then. I have two mags and both have issues.

Missing a round usually is the result of the bolt not touching the round on the way forward. Close inspection may reveal the problem. Watch for how the bolt engages the first round and the third, look at the height of the ammo vs the feed lips.

I can't tell either way what is going on with it. It looks like any other round. 80% of the time it fails to strip the 3rd round, 10% the second round (countin up from the top of the mag) and maybe 10% it functions like it should.

I've probably ran close to a thousand dummy rounds through this thing at this point. I'd say the rifle is broken in now.

Does this happen at the range with real rounds and empties? I'd say dummy rounds are not a 1 to 1 equivalent to the real thing.

then you'd just have a trigger to replace.

I own 2 other CZ rifles (455 American 22LR & 22WMR) and have purchased numerous parts & accessories from them. I've found their customer service to be hit & miss. If you're lucky enough to get a hold of someone, you'll be, most of the time, okay. If you leave VM's or emails, it gets iffy.

Unfortunately, sometimes I've been able to get through to someone in no time and other times, I've been hold for 10 minutes and nothing.

I gave up, but this post has inspired me to try again. Keep your fingers crossed.

I will add though, the rifle itself is a great little shooter. I've been able to get 5 shot groups as low as less than 1.5 MOA which is much better than I expected with Wolf ammo.

Just need to get the mag sorted out.

It's been a while, but I think green groups were with 527 and blue was with Arsenal Sam7. 2 diff ammo. Smaller groups were with non-range friendly rounds. Wolf yellow box groups a little bigger.
