New Rifle Build Project...
Well I finally got around to getting this painted. I used a new paint that my company is putting out. I was able to get a quart sample to play with, but I didn't get any choice in color. But I was happy with this color so it worked out. I have a matte WB urethane on order that I'll clear it with.
Primed.

Second and final coat.

Thanks guys. Like I said, I would have chosen a darker or different color if I could have, but this one works. Looks really sharp with the black receiver in it.Comment

Measure at 23.5" from the breech end of the blank to get your brake diameter.

Got my Accurate Mag 300WSM magazine today. I also picked up dies, powder, primers, and a rail. I went ahead and seated a bullet into a case set to a COAL of 2.860. Fits and feeds prefect.Comment

Looking good, think you'll have it done by the time I get down there? Maybe I'll bring my 260AI as well so we can go play with some real long range if we have time.

IDK, I need to schedule and pay for the barrel job next. If not, I have my .308 that will work.Comment

New Rifle Build Project...
So its been almost a year since I started the planning and buying for this project, but now its just about done. I spent April Fools with Randall and got everything put together. Next is paint.

With the bi-pod on it, it weighed in at 11 pounds. Still a few pounds lighter than my .308.
Went with a finished barrel length of 24", and it balances nicely. It also comes in a few inches shorter than my .308.
Only thing I might change on it, is the stock. But only if I'm going to save some weight. Otherwise its not worth the investment.Last edited by NorCalFocus; 04-04-2019, 10:22 AM.Comment
