    Rubicon Precision 6.5x47

Coming back from being away for the last few years has been a challenge to say the least. After struggling the last few months trying to work with what I had, I decided to completely re-tool. Here is the first of a few:

    Specs:
Builder: Robert Dunnett of Rubicon Precision out of Greenwood, CA (NorCal)
    sales@rubiconprecision.com

Left Handed Impact Precision action, .308 bolt face. Has a smaller firing pin to run large or small primers.
Also had Tate do an AW cut so it can take AWs and AICS magazines.
Our goal is to simply offer the best precision rifle action in the world. Our products are made by shooters, for shooters. Impact shooters have won 7 out of the last 8 PRS Golden Bullets, both of the IPRF Centerfire World Championships, and have won more 2 day PRS Matches since 2019 than any other manufacturer.

This is my first Impact Precision action (will NOT be my last) and can tell you that it is hands down the nicest action I have ever ran. These actions are out of Oklahoma and built by Tate Streater. It uses a trigger hanger vs. pinning your trigger into the action as well. There are some advantages that Tate explained to me, but I am not technical enough to explain them here.

The actions come coated and ready to roll. One thing I'd like to note is that Tate and his folks at Impact Precision are some of the nicest folks to deal with. It's very rare these days to actually get the person behind the product on the phone when you have questions or technical issues you are trying to work through. I also like the fact that when Tate said my action will be ready by x date, it was ready by x date (plus or minus a week).

Bartlein Heavy Palma 8 Twist 4 Groove barrel.

Terry Cross KMW Sentinel stock with integrated action block, aka the cool kids stock.

    Timney Calvin Elite Trigger
    Best replacement triggers available

    Area 419 Hellfire Muzzle Brake
The HELLFIRE Self Timing Brake system was engineered from the ground up to reduce more recoil and muzzle flip, while being easier to install.

Vortex Optics Gen II Razor HD
From tagging your first buck, to hitting the range with friends, to using the right optic to get closer to nature, our team thrives on your success.

I picked up this rig on Thursday night from Robert and put about 150 rounds through it over the last 3 days. Joe Walls and Dasher Dan gave me two loads to work with. 36.2 or 37.2 of Varget under a 140gn Berger Hybrid.

Both of those loads hammer. 36.2 gives me 2730FPS and 37.2 gives me 2790FPS

    This is 36.2 @ 200yds. 4 shots, because I can't shoot a 5 shot group to save my life.

After Saturday's range session I decided to just do a few tweaks and shoot the NorCal Long Range match on Sunday. Quick zero in the AM and Magneto speed showed 2780 FPS over 7 rounds with an SD of 2. Load was 37.1 of Varget, CCI 450, Pointed 140gn Berger Hybrid .010 off the lands.

The wind crushed me in the match but the rifle shot very well.

Here are some of the groups that 37.1gn load produced.

Put in 10 clicks of elevation so you don't shoot out your aiming point.
