Winchester 1873....yeah

Ok....got one of my dream rifles.....just signed out a Winchester 1873 in 357mag , plan jane blued (what I wanted)...20" barrel with a ladder sight with nice wood....can't wait to get it to the range...
pic to follow when I get my hands on it.

now to work on the others....LOL

Some will take 11. It depends on the length of the tube. Lever actions are exempt from the 10 rd. limit. Cokebottle cited pc in another thread.
My 20" bbl Win 73 only holds 10 (no plug in the mag tube). If I cram an 11th in there it doesn't feed reliably. There just isn't room.

Here's my Winchester (Miroku) 1873, 357 Mag/38 Special. Mine's a Trapper, 16" so it doesn't have quite the capacity of a 20", but it's so handy. It's my favorite rifle.

If you want-need to get 10 rounds in the tube they have a spring thats tapered to recoil into itself. I had a trapper in 44/40 that I shot in CAS that held ten with this mod. butt cuff ? its a butt cover search the CAS sites they have em.

I've never seen a '73 with a big hoop...I always cringed watchin "the rifleman"
twirling his '94 knowing the mechanics of that rifle and a '73, it would work in a '73 but the '94 would chuck the fresh round out to the ground in that twirl...;^)
