Max Ordinate is run by a former Scout Sniper.

ITTS's Sniper 1 is only two days if that's all you have -- it mixes in some LE/Mil topics that are not purely about precision rifle marksmanship.
As per post #59 - I already took Sniper 1 from ITTS:

By day #2, was out to 990-yards' range.

Planning to take Sniper 2 in September, hence, am hurrying up the build of my rifle... Because a rental rifle plus ammo will set me back $300...

I'll bookmark your post as a future reference. Thanks!

You are most welcome. Tell Uncle Scotty he looks like a ball bearing with lips...he loves that!

I recognize that rifle (two sets of scope rings) that used to be Scott's pride and Joy.

Op how was the class you took? Did they work a lot on the fundamentals and building a position?

Yeah! This rifle doesn't look like much, but it shoots awesome... I was actually doubting whether I was learning anything (hits at 990-yards for a newbie!) OR was it the rifle doing all the work.

I jokingly asked Uncle Scotty if he was willing to sell the rifle to me at a "discount," since it's already 30-years old.

I think I wouldn't be in a position to say since I have nothing to work against (I'm a newbie)... But my feeling is that they worked through the theory of long-range, getting into position (they taught Olympic prone vS ???-prone), MOA, bullet drop, breathing, etc.

In the end, I so liked the class that I signed up for Sniper 2 - and am now building on my rifle (this thread, basically).

Is that class really marked as Sniper 2?

The name is a little derpy but it's also good marketing and they did mix in some snipery things like an O-course and shooter/spotter drills that you don't get at a precision rifle course focused on PRS-type shooting. Law Enforcement Sniper Basic (and Intermediate) might be closer to accurate descriptions.

They were good courses when I took them (Scott and Mark Semos instructed, Mark was an NSW sniper). The O-course in particular was a good training modifier.

I'll close by saying that those classes would also be fun to shoot with an accurate, scoped 223/556 AR with 68 to 77grain loads. Like this course which was a great one: http://www.followthroughconsulting.c...ne-teasdale-ut

For context/creds: I've done PR courses at Rifles Only, Thunder Ranch, Central Cascades Precision, and Tac Pro, and have shot a few major matches. The ITTS course is a good option for those who can't travel or take a week off.

                      Lol. Can't argue with that.

Not too many takers for the build a hide in a pile of trash, then spend five days watching a house with no results while you piss in a hole you dug with your Kabar and use empty MRE pouches to store your crap course

QUICK UPDATE: Thanks to ar15barrels - my 700 is now a better "fit" for me! Really sweet...!!!

The time, drive/effort and dollar that I spent for that hour was well worth it... I was able to get a good setup for my rifle and I learned a LOT in the process. A few I bet you won't even be getting from YouTube University (as I've mentioned, as a beginner, I definitely would like to start on the right foot... Not from some "supposed" expert from YouTubeU, etc.).

Can't wait to shoot this! And focus more on the basics, rather than figuring out my equipment (which, of course, will come later)...

                        Thanks again, ar15barrels!

                            OP,

I bought the same scope, I didn't see if you mentioned if you chose FFP or SFP?
