    Gunsmith Help

Who locally in the Bay area can I take my CZ 550 Kevlar varmint too and have them, fit a McMillan A3-5 stock, thread the barrel fort muzzle brake, and straighten bolt handle and install badger type knob?

    Thanks in advance

You would do better to just start with a new round action and build from scratch.
            Re-working non-standard parts sucks.

            Don't ceracoat the proof barrel!

                .300wm = long action

Big difference between both calibers. Figure out what you want first before looking for a gunsmith.

Randall can get you squared away if you head down south his way; worst case you get a ton of good advice from him based on what your needs are (or what you're attempting to achieve).

Brownell's carries a lot of stuff if you want to window shop.

Careful you don't find yourself diving down the rabbit hole. Or maybe you'll want to, lol. It will go like this: here's a nice action for $400, but with recommended improvements is $600. But for only a couple hundred more you can get a custom action that's somewhat better and doesn't need the improvements. But hey, if you're looking at $800 actions, come give this Super Duper BulletSlammer 5000 a try. Only a few hundred more...

Been there, still there, I need a rope and not a bow to get out of there, hopefully little piglet can help me find my way out of the rabbit hole!

                      Don't laugh, it's a "Pooh" reference!

GrabaGun sells actions but you gotta be patient as the prices change all the time.
One day a stainless long action is cheaper than a blued short action then it flips.

I just Wasn't thinking too deeply when I said that, but that is an option, But I am probably going to go for the short action 6.5 Creedmore, possibly a long action 270 depending on if I find a good deal or trade for something.

I do want a 700 and have a CZ 550 Kevlar Varmint with heavy Target barrel, blued 24" barrel sitting on an HS Precision stock with a single set triggerchambered in .308 Win for trade.

                            It'll be a benchrest tactical"cool" gun.

If you want a target/longrange gun and already have a 308, a 6.5 Creedmoor is the most logical solution.
A 270 is a great hunting cartridge, but not such a good longrange/target cartridge.
This is because of the lack of target bullets/ammo available for it.

Define a budget and then we can figure out your comfort level and make parts recommendations.
