My Marlin 45/70 doesn't feed right. Part #40 (the Loading Spring) hits part #8 (the Carrier Assembly). If the gun is even a little bit tilted to the side the Carrier Assembly moves up & hits the Loading Spring. So it won't load. Anyone else have an issue like this? I'm thinking I can just grind some off of the bottom of the Loading Spring & then it won't hit. What do you think? Thank You! Bill

Did you, by chance, change out the lever? I had this problem on a 336 when I did that.......

Thank You Bainter & Kokopelli! It's the model that came with the large loop so it's not that. And the loading gate screw is tight as is every screw that I can see without taking it apart. When it hits the carrier assembly moves towards the top of the gun. The loading gate just goes left to right not down. The forward/bottom part of the loading gate is what hits. I think I'll file it down a little, it won't take much. Thanks again! BillComment
