    Howa Legacy HGK36107BP+

    Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with one of these in .223? They are blowing them out pretty inexpensive in our area. The scope looks clear. Are they any good?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dan

As a general rule, the scopes included in "combo package" guns are generally crap.
They may function, but they are still crap.

          ...with a scope upgrade.

Where are they "blowing them out"? I've been looking for another .223 and this might fit the bill.

The one OP mentioned is less than $500.

A Howa for less than that is a good price.

The lightweight barrel models (minus scope) are available for $330. I have one. Heavy barrels are harder to find. The best way to get one might be to get a barreled action from Brownells and put it in a stock. I think the factory stock is a Hogue.

edit: The one in OP sounds like mine except for the scope. Also, the one I got from Whitaker has a 10 round polymer detachable mag.
