        I never said every shooter was capable of that.
        I only said that the rifle and ammo were.

          Oh, that hurt Randall. So far I can't get near a 1/3 MOA 5 shot group, I haven't seen anyone else show that good of grouping either, do you have a link?

          Edit: I think I have the skills, I can shoot my Contender pistol and get 1/3 inch groups at 100yards and rifles are easier to shoot than that.

            I read somewhere that Larry Bartholome used a Sendero to win a 1000 yard Match but don't recall if he loaded for it or shot reloads.
            It was either in Precision Shooting magazine or Varmint Hunter magazine.

                I don't remember it from Precision Shooting magazine. To be fair I tried 155s first, then 168s and finally went to the 175 grain and it was showing improvement. I guess I need to scrub the barrel and give it another go. I really don't have that many rounds through it but it wasn't showing any hint of being exceptional.

                  I would choose a heavier bullet in the 190 grain class.
                  I gave away all my magazines but will see if I can find it online.

                    I have shot at least a dozen different samples of the 29663 and every one of them shot amazingly well.
                    I wish every barrel Remington made was like that barrel on the 29663.

                    I don't have a link because this is my personal experience in teaching precision rifle classes and shooting other people's rifle when they have accuracy problems.
                    When I grab a guy's rifle and shoot a 1/3 moa group and show him that his rifle is fine, then he knows it's a shooter problem and not an equipment problem.

                      I never thought about using bullets that heavy but the gun was showing signs that it liked the heavier bullets. I'll give it a try, I got nothing to lose.

                          It sure seems that way with most guns.

                            @Randall

                            Would you suggest the gen 2 over the gen 1? Any added benefits?

                              Out of box? Tikka?
                              All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

                                Well, just because one example of one model R700 will shoot well does not mean the next will. Given the tolerances that consumer rifles are held to, there will be a pretty wide disparity in inherent accuracy out of the box.
