    Remington 700 Double Feeding

    Hello,

*Dont mind the empty brass not feeding when it grabs a round, it will do that without a bullet tip to guide it in, focus on the double feed.*
It does this with live rounds also, not just brass. When I use the internal magazine and fill it with 4 rounds on the 2nd to last round it will unhook from the left side feed lip and pop out of the mag and sit in the open breach. This in turn causes the bolt to shove this round and the next round in the magazine to chamber but obviously they cant hence a double feed.

What can I do to remedy this? Will it involve sending it in to a shop to regrind the lip? Should I just upgrade to a detachable mag(which Ive been thinking of doing)?

Your posts also appear to be double-feeding.

One of two things; either your internal magazine body is not seated correctly causing the magazine follower to feed the ammo unevenly or you have a weak magazine leaf spring.

              ...or it could be both.

              Good luck.

Nothing at all wrong with your gun.
Try loading live ammo and your issue will go away.

OP states it also happens with live ammo.

Interesting, I have an older from the late 60s Remington 700, that sometimes does the same thing with live ammo. It just happens to be a 7mm Remington Magnum. I've been wondering about the spring in the Box as being the problem.

Your video shows only operator error.
You do not seem to know how a push feed action feeds, or maybe you do not have the magazine box seated properly in the action.

You are specifically moving the bolt so slow that you are creating feeding failures.
What your video shows is the cartridge releasing from the magazine.
You must not realize that ALL push feed actions do exactly that, but it's not an issue if you are moving the bolt in a normal fashion as the bolt simply pushes the cartridge into the chamber.
If you were cycling it at a proper speed, it would likely be working fine.

If this bothers you, I suggest that push feed actions are not your thing and that you might prefer a controlled feed action as the cartridge is never "floating" in the feeding cycle of a controlled feed action.

Do you only have one mag?

You can plainly see from the video that his magazine is a fixed.
The cartridges are feeding off of the receiver rails.

The video shows the OP pushing an empty round until it jumps free of the feed lips then backing the bolt up and trying to cycle a second round without doing anything to the first round.

Like Randall said. Run that action at full speed. that slow feed will cause problems. Actions should be racked fairly briskly for proper function.
