Is 30.06 enough to hunt boar?

Hey everyone, I want to hunt boar (male piglets), but im worried that my savage 30.06 won't be enough to put them down without causing bleeding that they can feel and also i want them not to squeal because that triggers me.
Is 30.06 enough to kill a boar or should I upgrade to a larger caliber?

You'll need a .338 Lapua, that should keep their squealing to a minimum.

.338 barely seems more than 308...
I upgraded from 308 after a bad experience when i shot a boar and he cried for an hour...
30.06 is nearly 10 times as powerful as a 308 due to the numbers... i just don't see a 338 cutting the mustard when 308 gave me such a bad experience.

Is this real? You hunted a boar, shot to kill. And the round didn't kill it, so rather then shooting it in the head or finishing it off quickly, you sat there "comforting it" for an hour til it died?

If this is true then you shouldn't be hunting or own guns.
