    Sure.
You just grind out the bedding and re-do it.

I do lots of work on savages.
They suffer from the same problem of mismatch, but not tang deflection as the rear action screw is in the middle of the receiver and the tang free floats.

As an aside, Howa is bringing out a KRG Bravo model, 24" heavy barrel, uses AICS mags, looks to be under 1100 bucks.

I finally got out and got to shoot this thing yesterday. What a difference a good fitting stock makes. I was able to get right onto the gun with little movement and no fighting it into position. The pistol grip was very comfortable and placed my hand into position without having to think about it. Recoil management is much better in this chassis as well. It didn't feel like the gun wanted to jump out of my shoulder every time. Just a nice light punch and I was staying on target right through the recoil pulse. I was calling my own shots without any trouble.

It was windy yesterday, gust up to 15-20 mph. So I didn't shoot any groups. Just stuck to hitting plates and rocks. Made an 1100 yard shot on a rock, and was able to shoot water bottles at 550 yards. I'm going to get out again soon to the 100 yard line and lay down some groups too see if that also has improved with the chassis.

Overall for the money I spent, this a very nice chassis. Anyone saying they can't afford a fully adjustable stock no longer has an excuse. This chassis checks all the boxes on function for not much more that a Magpul hunter, and less than a B&C with an adjustable cheek riser. It does fall short slightly on some features. You can't get a folding stock, it doesn't have quick adjust LOP, and they use polymer vs aluminum for the outside. But again this is reflected in the price.
