    A bygone era

I like the look and concept of double triggers. Rarely see them on rifles outside Europe.

I own two. A Pedersoli 1874 Sharps, and a BRNO 22F Mannlicher. Haven't shot either one. I just think they look 'cool'....

Haven't shot either one yet? Are you okay?
I love those BRNO rifles, true old world craftsmanship, and that one has wood worth bragging rights. What calibers are the two?

I have two rifles with set triggers and I really enjoy both of them. I cant speak for all set triggers but on my .50 cal hawken the only way to un-set the trigger is to hold the hammer back while you click the trigger and release it to half-cocked.

My CZ 453 has the single set trigger that you push forward to set, its adjusted to less than one ounce. To un-set it, you can simply put the safety on and pull the trigger so it clicks back to the un-set 3lb single stage setting
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

45-70 and 7x57. Yeah I'm OK, just getting old... :-) Still wanna go to Wyoming and get a Buffalo. Back in another lifetime when I had plenty of time and no money I'd be hunting, shooting trap, or fishing every week end. Now that I've got the bucks I'm retired and busier than a one armed paper hanger with the crabs.... No time to hunt, fish, or shoot...

My Anschutz model 1416 .22 rifle has a set trigger standard from the factory. I bought it in W. Germany in 1978. Double set triggers are very popular there. This one has been problem free for decades. I like the feature myself.

It's the model 64 match rifle action. Very accurate little rifle. It was expensive at the time, $164 as I remember which was a lot of money for a recently married 2LT who made about $800 a month!

At todays rate with inflation it would still be expensive. About $650 bucks...maybe more?? I just saw an H&K 300 22 mag rifle sell for over 2 grand at auction... Someone wanted it more than I did... :-)

I've got a styer with a mannlicher stock that has a double set. Love the gun. Very accurate and turns heads.

Thanks! Got it for a steal. Hammered twist barrel and Leopold scope for under $1k. Its in .243 and will be my new deer gun.

The double set knocks the fire trigger to a "stupid low" 10oz from an already low 20oz.

I picked up the BRNO about 7 to 8 years ago, and don't want to spoil your fun.... but lets just say that every once in a while a blind squirrel will stumble over an acorn.... :-) Your's is worth every penny of what you found it for and more. Mine didn't come drilled and tapped so iron sights only, and when I researched the serial number the born on date it was 1944. I know where it's sister is and only 2 S/N numbers away from mine. In my thinking they could have sat in the same rack when moving thru the factory while being built..??

That makes 2 of us Condor. I am jealous of your Brno 22F in 7x57. I have never been lucky enough to run into a 21-22 or ZG 47 yet!
