The thing is, if you shoot 4MOA surplus ammo, how are you going to know if your practice has improved your shooting skill. Might as well use a shotgun.

Minimize your variables. Surplus ball ammo is a 4MOA variable; that's huge...

Shooting $1/rnd match can give better results, but not necessarily make better shooters.

At the range or open country Please

When shooting Hirtenberger 146gr, the trigger will ocationally jam: after I put the safety off and tried to pull the trigger, the trigger got stuck and wouldn't pull. I had to unlock and lock the handle so that the trigger could pull.
No one, not a single expert here has addressed what his problem is. reading the above, I don't have any idea WTH he is asking.

The trigger "jam" (WTH?) has nothing to do with ammo, the cartridge fitting in the chamber or anything mentioned by anyone. Quick look at the Mauser page and the Model 12 trigger is not the same as a Model 98

Hopefully a gunsmith my chime in here and end this madness.

tsagaan - elaborate PLEASE. The handle is the bolt ?? Leave the safety off. Don't touch it. Feed a round of Hirtenberger Pull the trigger. Now say something meaningful so we can understand. Does the round fire or not ? Does the trigger "stick" before or after firing ? The trigger releases the firing pin by allowing the pin to slide over the sear. The ammo should have no affect on the trigger/sear engagement UNLESS the ammo is not chambering all the way. But you don't say this. Is there difficulty closing the bolt on the Hirt ? Your weapon will not fire if the bolt is not closed. so . . .. . . . Anyone ? Help out here.

Take your weapon apart and look over the parts.
