    Billy Goat Machine comes through!!

The never-ending saga of my precision big bore rifle build may finally be coming to an end, thanks in large part to Billy Goat Machine, haha!!

I shipped off my beloved BAT EX action, 36" Bartlein 50 barrel, 36" Krieger 375 barrel, two bolts, two muzzle brakes, two reamers, and four GO/NO GO gauges to BGM a couple of months ago.

Just got the parts back today...my goodness, what beautiful machining!! So looking forward to getting this rig out to the range.

When that will be is anyone's guess, haha!! I'm recovering from left shoulder surgery, I'm left handed, so we'll see what my surgeon has to say. He said no running, swimming, or biking for about 3 months but I didn't hear anything about shooting a .510 DTC, haha!!

I've got a S&B PMII floating around here somewhere, I'm hoping it will do the trick with this rig. BAT EX came with a 20MOA rail. I still have to source rings or a 1-piece mount (more $$$, haha!!).

    Anyway...the obligatory pics!!

First one is the BAT EX with the 50 cal barrel and Armalite MB attached. For reference, that's a lightweight hunting rifle with a 19" barrel behind it (photo courtesy of BGM!!)

Here's a close-up of the MB threading on the 375, along with a shot of the APA XXX Bastard II MB. Many, many thanks to BGM for pulling some strings and getting me this MB in my lifetime, haha!! For reference, the muzzle OD is 1.5"

Here's a close-up of the chamber end of the 375 barrel. For reference, the chamber end OD is 1.75"

Since this is a switch barrel setup, I had BGM punch witness marks in the barrels and action. I figured it might make barrel swaps easier.

And finally, a close up of the 510 barrel with the Armalite MB. For reference, the muzzle OD is 2". The last pic represents my remaining total net worth after paying for all this crap, haha!!

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
    Come on...what harm??

The picture showing the factory rifle behind your barreled action is awesome. Most shooters have no idea just how big these big guns are.
Now get a load for it and come out to one of our matches starting at 2000 yards.

I would wait a while after that shoulder surgery! It will give you time to get it all together and the ammo collected for it. And by awhile I mean 9-12 months so that its fully healed and you have as close to normal range of motion as your going to get.
                Then have fun with it.

Definitely some good looking machining for what looks to be a fun build!

The size of it though makes it look like something you would use for avalanche control.

Pleasure doing business with you and glad your rifles arrived safe and sound before Christmas. I love working on BatMachine actions for the larger calibers and yours was no exception. Hope to meet you in person at one of the URSA events someday. Even though I can't shoot for crap at those distances, my rifles in capable hands do pretty well.

The 338 Lapua Ackley Improved you built me got our first lady shooter qualified at 2054 yards her first time at one of our matches!!!!!
She is a good shooter but everyone that has shot it has gotten hits with it.
The good news is you won't have to do any load work up you can just use what your customers are using and your all set.

                        JoeFrank64
That McMillan Super BR is a very nice stock and it will make load development almost effortless. It tracks straight in the rest so all you need to do is add a Stop so you return it to battery or the same place shot after shot.
The recoil won't be a problem for your shoulder as all you do is catch the rifle after you touch the trigger. You don't shoulder it like a lightweight rifle.
The shoulder surgery will come into play when you try and bring it to the line as these rifles are not light. Some shooters will grab the barrel with one hand and put a strap over the stock and around there elbow to lift them up.

Jayson told me that thing is a hammer. And you went 5 for 5 with it at 2050 correct? I'm excited for you to get the Snipetac out sometime soon to see how it does at 2500+

Th URSA crew is really doing some amazing shooting......stuff I didn't think possible 10 years ago.

JoeFrank, heal up quick and like Lynn mentioned, no recoil on that bad boy. Now you just need the services of a rifle caddy

Yeah, with the weight & brakes, there will be very little shoulder recoil. The shockwave concussion is the tough part.
