AI AXMC Short Action

Does anyone know it Magpul AICS .308 mags will fit the AX Chassis?

I'm still on the 10 day wait, in the mean time, I've bought some accessories, but considering how much AI mags costs, was hoping to be able to use the Magpul.

Got another Area 419 Hellfire brake in 6.5CM. Spuhr QDP-4602 to go 41.2MOA (12Mil cant).
And Vortex 4.5-27x56mm

For the quality, AI mags are dirt cheap. Other high quality propriety magazines can run $300 a pop on higher end guns because they don't have the economy of scale that AI has on magazines.

My understanding is that the magpul is the single stacking magazine where the AIAX uses the double stacking magazine. The magpul is like the #3902 magazine, and the AX uses the #6955 magazine. I doubt it would be a good idea. As to the fit, I am sure that ar15barrels or someone would have the exact answer.

Nope it won't fit. Like JMP said, AXMC short action use double stack.

Thanks, JMP, i actually forgot to check, but i had ask a similar question on Snipers Hide. Looks like they all fit...but some may work/fit better than others.

Here are the cataloged magazines. It might fit, but that doesn't mean it will run well. I'd think you'd have too much extra room unless you modified it, but again, let's see what the gunsmiths say.

The mag that comes with the rifle looks to be DE and not PB. I have to check again

I have an armc and ax 308. Both are the same color. My AW is green and I also have one in FDE but they came with black magazines. The mags that came with my post 2014 axmc match the pale brown after taking the rifles home.

If you don’t mind running black magazines, you can run the AT/AW magazines. I use them with 308 and 260 without a problem. They do rattle a little when empty
