You should also look at the Howa and Savage. With a chassis also.
Savage has a $150 rebate. Just picked up a 6.5 Creedmore.

I have had a total of three of these, and sold all of them. They are extremely accurate and I love that they take ar15 mags, but...

IMHO, the bolt is a mess. I realize it was designed to be sloppy, and it's really sloppy. You have to be very forceful when loading a round. If you really want a good bang for the buck, look at the Howa 1500. Action is very slick and sub MOA.

That's a very good price since it includes the scope, but I wonder how good the trigger is? I would handle one first before ordering one. The Mossberg may not have a lot of aftermarket support to replace the trigger, if that's important to you.

I have a Ruger Precision Rifle (RPR) in 556 and it's a fun accurate shooter. The trigger is very good for it being stock. The rifle gives me the chance to shoot cheap 556 or step it up and shoot 223. Way cheaper than shooting my 308.

That's some good info, can't go wrong with Timney.

On GunBroker the scope is approx $550-$600 without the scope rings. Buds also includes a bipod. For everything that is included, that's a tough price to beat.

Have you run into any problems with piercing primers on reloads? I have a MVP varmint and used CCI 400 and popped primers before I hit any real pressure... gonna try SR magnum for the thicker cups.

No, I've been using Remington 7 1/2 BR and CCI BR-4 primers.

I almost bought this gun in 6.5cm but someone talked me out of it at the last minute. I tried everything under the sun to get a similar lightweight chassis build and found the Savage 10 BA stealth. Great gun at a great price with the rebate going. Definitely recommend if you want a light chassis gun otherwise go Tikka t3x or Howa 1500. Good luck.

I have a Mossberg MVP (2.23/5.56) and Mossberg Patriot in .243. Terrific values and good-to-go out of the box. While I don't see the value in the OPs choice regarding chassis, trigger, barrel, bolt - it's all good.

I have the MVP Varmint with a 24" barrel - accurate, reliable, relatively cheap, and a good companion with an AR.
Its still a Value rifle, so spending that much youre putting it into a category where you should spend that money on higher tier rifle.
