    Scope for CA 527 (7,62x39mm)

I just purchased a CZ 527 (7,62x39mm) and am looking to purchase a scope for it. This is my first long rifle and I don't have any experience and don't know what to look for in quality of a scope or brands so any help is appreciated. Something usable out to 100 or 150 yards would be great. Also, what scope mounts would I need for my rifle? Links to products would be nice.

Lastly, also looking for a rifle sling for my CZ 527. Again, something I don't know anything about.

Thanks again for all the help!

Ching sling is a good one

and as for a scope 150 yards is poo that as far as you want to go 3 x 9 Nikon of some kind would be good less you're lookin to spend more for fun.

Depends on what you plan to use the rifle for.
If a range toy the any sling or non-junk scope. Scope can be 3X9X40 or 4X12x40 with a 1" tube and any reticle that you fancy.

If hunting get a Claw sling and a Leupold scope. Get a 1" tube 3X9X40 or 3.5X10X40 with a duplex reticle and sight it 2.75" high at 100 yard then hold on the animal to get meat in the freezer.
Base/rings for any scope could be something like weaver 1 or 2 piece or Leupold 1 or 2 piece bases and low rings for either that are compatible with the bases.

If you are near me you are welcome to come over look at and try out any of the ones I have. You can shoot any of my rifles. I will lap the rings and help you mount the scope. I have done many 100's of them for people. Then we can go and sight it in. I am very good at sighting in new scope/rifle combos and do so almost every time I RSO
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

For 7.62x39, go with a 1.5-4 or 1-4 Leupold or Nikon.

For the effective range of 7.62x39, you dont need anything more than 4x. I had a 3-9x40 on a 7.62x39 rifle; it was really a waste.

That CZ with a nice compact scope would make a nice combination in the field; a nice "carbine brush gun" like they say on the CZ website.

Yeah I don't really know, range wise I guess. I've never been shooting outdoors and have only been to a 25 yard indoor range to try out my rifle. I'm still new to shooting so I definitely have to try the longer distances.

It sucks that you're up in Norcal or I'd like to have met up with you and discussed this more. Thank you for the suggestions though! I will look into them. Thank you!

Thanks for the link to this one. I like the looks of it! I'll have to shop around a bit and look at the other ones suggested as well but I'll keep this saved.

I got a vortex 1-6 strike eagle for my Ruger American and love it. Perfect scope for plinking/pigs

Definitely take a look at Vortex’s lineup. A lot of scope for the money and great customer service.

I own a CZ527 and can provide my experience. CZ uses 16mm dovetails which is an uncommon size in the US. My CZ came with 1” rings, but you can get a DIP picatinny adapter that slides over the dovetails and keeps a clean profile, yet offering a larger selection of mounts.

There were 2 issues I had with buying a scope for the CZ. The short action bolt handle clearance is narrow, especially when you attach a scope with large ocular bell, causing your knuckles to drag on the scope every time you rack the bolt. You can get a gunsmith to modify/bend the bolt handle for better clearance, or buy a fixed magnification scope. If interested in a variable magnification scope, look for a traditional style scope, instead of the more modern scopes styles with large and long ocular housings.

Second, there is not much space for a large objective lens out front, unless you remove the rear sight. I don’t think anything bigger than 40mm will fit.

My CZ has Warne QD rings and Leupold ultralight 3-9 scope on it. I accessorized it with 1.5” QD rings with a GI sling and a thin stock pouch. Hope this helps.

Nikon 2x7 with the factory rings on mine. It's perfect for 100-300 yards.

Thanks for the heads up on the DIP picatinny rails. My gun currently has the 16mm rings and now I can use a better setup. I ordered the 25 moa model.

Leupold VX3. 2.5x8x36, best small scope on the market.
