recommend me a .357 lever action

Was going to build another AR15 but changed my mind and now looking at a .357 lever action. Checked a LGS but they didn't have much in stock at all. Can anyone point me towards a model to look into? Basically just going to be a plinker, and already own several .357/38 firearms and also reload it so it seems like the best caliber to go with. Might keep iron sights, possible scope, maybe red dot or similar.

If you can find one, the Browning B92 is cream of the crop. Try to avoid the Win 94 in that caliber. The 94 is a rifle cartridge length action. The 92 receiver is better suited for pistol length rounds.

I've got a Rossi M92 and it's a bare bones entry level gun, but shoots straight. First time I took it out, I was able to hit a 4"x4" steel plate at 100yards with the stock iron sights. And I'm not that great a shot, so that says something for the rifle.

I've got a '92 Winchester-Rossi

Love this gun. Rossi is a little rough but smooth up nicely and are great guns.

I have a Henry Big Boy in .357. I like it. Haven't tried to shoot much beyond about 50 yards with it so far, but I can hit steel plate at that range no problem with the iron sights.

Another vote for Rossi. Outstanding lever gun for the price. I've run about 2,000 rounds of cast powder coated bullets thru it without a cleaning and it keeps going. I've got a carbine in 357 and 45lc

Chiappa makes a nice 1892 Alaskan takedown in 357.

I have 2 Rossi's and love em, but their hard to find new. If you have the cash I'd get a Browning or Whichesster. What ever you decide I'd stick with the model 92, the action is stronger.

Hard to find, but a Timberwolf pump action 357 mag would be a nice addition.

Marlin 1894C...used, they haven't been made new for quite some time. $$$.

Lots of folks seem happy with their Henrys; tube loading bothers me, but I should probably get over it.

Here's one in 44, 357 shouldn't be much different in terms of function.

I only have 44's (had to cut down ammo list), but both older Marlin/JM and any newer Henrys are on my list. I have both and I enjoy them.

The tube is a love it or leave it thing, but if you don't mind - Henry is the bomb.
The older Marlins are very hard to find and can be very expensive.
