I'm glad to hear it. I'm going to pick up my .308 Predator tomorrow now that it's finally done with its 10-day sentence in waiting period jail. Which optic were you using with it?

You should have shot the 43 and 43.5. The idea when doing a ladder test is to find the middle of the node. At 42.5 you could be living on one edge of it. Now you throw a grain high or low, seat the bullet a little different, get a new lot of powder, etc, all that can throw you right out of the node.

I’m kinda new to this ladder thing.

Most people don't understand how to do a proper ladder test or what you are even looking for with a proper ladder test.

A proper ladder test is ONE shot at each charge weight, all fired at the same aiming point.
The increase in charge weight will cause the bullet's impact elevation to go higher and higher on target.
This has to be done at a significant enough distance so that the bullets are NOT close together.
After a string of 20 shots or so, a cluster of shots will be apparent within a small group of charges.
This smaller spread group is your "node".



Shooting groups at different charge weights is not a ladder test.
That's just shooting groups at different charge weights.
Shooting groups at different charge weights shows you if a load is accurate with no regard for the node.
The node is most important for longer range shooting as keeping your load on a node assures a smaller elevation variance at longrange.
