Help an idiot out... Ruger precision issue

Alright, so I picked up my rpr yesterday and wanted to clean the ruger oil off the bolt and everything else. Without paying attention though I rotated my bolt shroud too far and now my cocking cam has popped out of place. Any one have this issue before and able to fix it? I'm new to bolt actions but not new to working on guns and have plenty of tools but I can't even figure out how to get the shroud off.

    Thanks
    Alex

Take the bolt and put it in a padded vice, leaving the cocking piece facing up, outside of the vice. See if you can take a piece of paracord, shoestring etc. and see if you can pull the cocking piece back and then rotate the bolt back into the cocked position.

Or try what you see in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPEoxtINHeI

I actually believe I fixed it just by using a lot of strength and rotated the shroud. I dry fired it three times with no issues.

NOTE: The cocking piece will only rotate fully if turned clockwise, relative to the bolt body (when viewed from the rear of the bolt).
Do not rotate the cocking piece beyond the positions shown in the instructions. If the cocking piece is turned too far, it will “fall down” to the bottom of the cocking cams and will take significant effort, and possibly the use of hand tools or a gripping aid, to return the cocking piece to the correct cam notches. Because there are dual cocking cams, you may need to rotate the cocking piece through both cams in order to return the cocking piece to its proper position.
Also a good time to see if your rifle has the new shroud or may need the recall https://ruger.com/dataProcess/rprSafety/

Thanks that was one of the first things I did. Mine was available to get the new shroud. I bought this rifle from a member and was told zero rounds were through it but it has had some issues since I've began to dig into it. I didn't realize that from factory the piece that holds the tools in the shroud was not installed from factory. Mine was installed when I bought it and now I cannot get it off. Any ideas from someone who may own this rifle?
