    Just the "Large Loop Carbine":

Iconic style large loop lever-action Model 1892, walnut carbine style buttstock and forearm, strap style buttplate, ladder rear sight. Top tang is drilled and tapped for optional peep sight.

I have 2 lever guns.. I have a Winchester Trapper 94 in .357 and a Rossi 92 in .454 Casull. If I were to do it again, I'd probably just get a Rossi 16" in .357. Getting it from the gunsmith is a fine idea. I got my Rossi slicked up by just doing a LOT of dry-firing. I'd run it about 100 times, then spray it out with scrubber to get the shavings or whatever out of it, re-lube, and repeat. I figure I've run it close to 1000 times now and it is completely smooth to where just flicking the lever out with my right hand is almost no effort at all. Getting in .357 would be better than what I did, being a LOT cheaper to shoot. .45 LC and .454 are not inexpensive to shoot, and .454 has significant recoil.

The Winchester is nice, but not readily available, and is not even close to as smooth. That's an issue with the design of the 94 vs 92 action, rather than the fit and finish.

Always the Savage 99 to consider also. Pretty decent price often times.

If you are not interested in hunting I would second the Winchester model 94, even though 30-30 or .32 winchester special are decent hunting calibers. If you hunted and wanted some compatibility with other rifle calibers I would recommend the Browning BLR. The BLR is a gorgeous rifle that is light and nice to handle.

The old couple that used to take care of my sisters and me after school were long time hunters. Uncle Hugh as we called him had a Savage 99 in 308 cal. I've always wanted one, it's a fine gun.

Does Rossi have limited production runs of there lever actions? Currently can not find anyone with one in stock. I am looking for the 410/45 colt. So being available in Oct would indicate to me that they release what they have produced for the Christmas buying season?

I marvel at the mechanical cleverness of lever designs, so disassembling & slicking up the action & gate were part of the fun (plenty of online instructional videos in addition to inexpensive upgrades like spring kits, follower upgrade, sights (swapped my semi-buckhorn for a peep), etc.,)
The result is a relatively inexpensive all around fun gun with a smooth & light-action that feeds 357 & 38 equally well.
If I had the spare change and storage space, I'd gladly acquire Mirokus, Marlins, Ubertis, vintage Winchesters, and any other levers I encountered, so I'm not endorsing Rossis over any other brand, just asserting that I've had a great experience with mine and it bears consideration as an option.
I'm not a collector, I don't shoot cowboy action matches, but I picked up an inexpensive Rossi, slicked it up a bit, and it is about the most fun plinker I have ever owned.

Yeah, me too. So I got a few, including this JM Marlin 1894 at Big5 about 10 years for $299. I had to have the side loading port and front barrel bands, that was a must for me.

I also have Winchester model 94 in 30/30 that meets the criteria too and that one set me back all of $79 about 40 years ago at Woolworths (remember them?).

I prefer the pivot action and side eject of the Marlin over the Winchester drop action and top eject.
The 357 has a lot of punch but kicks less than the 30/30. The 44 mag kicks the most. I reload so ammo cost is reasonable for all of them.

Yet, the first lever actions didn't have a side loading gate. In fact, it took a couple of decades before the first rifle with a loading gate was produced. I have lever action rifles with loading gates, with tube loading and with rotary magazines. They all have their place depending on what your wants and needs are. I'd love to have a lever action, revolving cylinder rifle but, it hasn't made it to the top of my must have list yet.

Oh yea, since this is calguns, home of the EBR, why hasn't anyone mentioned lever action AR15 carbines? They are offered in .223, 30 carbine, .45acp and 9mm.

Look around. Deals to be had if you put the time in.
I've found in the past 5 months two sweet JM spamped Marlin 1894's in 35rem and 30-30. $375_$425 .
Both in great condition. If you reload, it's a bonus in setting them up for felt recoil.
As previously stated, pistol cartridges in a lever is the cat's meow. I also own Marlins in 38/357 and my favorite, 45colt.

I believe they do. They also cut production on some lever guns. The last I read was production of the 357 models will hit the shelves in October.
