I'm finally converting my .300 win mag model 70 to a lead-free load. It's my primary big game rifle, but I just started reloading, and I'm not tooled up to reload for .300 win mag yet. I don't regularly shoot this rifle or this round, so I'm debating if I should invest in reloading for it, especially since I'll be moving out of this state in about a year.
I'd like to try out some different weights of monolithic bullets. I've had good results with rifles shooting Barnes TSX, so I want to give the 180g TTSX a try. I also want to try out Barnes' new Vor-Tex LRX line of loads, but there is little to no info online regarding its performance as a hunting round. I do my best to get as close as possible in all of my hunts, and I've never taken a shot outside of 350 yards (I once shot a prong horn ~320yards), but I'm interested in the LRX line because it looks to be high quality and worth the $2.60/round they're asking.
Does anyone have experience shooting Barnes Vor-Tex LRX? If so, what do you think? Worth the money?
