Winchester 70 2 piece hinged floor plate

I have a post 64 long action with a 2 piece floor plate. Is there an advantage to the one piece design? When converting over to one piece design is a different (1 piece) stock needed?

The two piece is easier to install. You don't have to get the pillar angles perfect. I have a pre 64 and need new bottom metal and chose the Williams one piece. I had to get rid of the middle screw and bed the bottom metal so it won't flex. With the two piece each bottom metal piece can be parallel with the action.
Most likely minor fitting is needed. Small chiseling work

As trakker stated, the single piece is easier to take down. But, when bedded right, the 1-piece floor plate eliminates accuracy variables caused by the middle screw in the 2-piece design.

I leave my pre-64s 2-piece for nostalgia, but will freely admit that the 1-piece floor plate is a superior design.

Just be mindful that converting from a 2-piece to a single piece involves much more than simply swapping the two.

That is kinda what I am asking, is a 1 piece stock needed for the change? I can't find much info on the 2 to 1 piece switch.

It's slightly off in sizes. You either have to open it up or fill it in with Marinetex. Just use shoe polish as a release agent and put a layer of masking tape in the sides.
