Tikka T3x A1 Tac 6.5 first time to range

I am a believer. The Tikka shoots really really well. After sight in with 2 rounds, I shot sub moa group right out of the box. The barrel not even break in!

Second group, 3 shot touching each other.

The action is super smooth. Recoil is very light with the factory muzzle brake. Pistol grip is very comfortable. I don't see a point why people has to change it.

Fit n finish is excellent. I love this rifle!!

The barrel was broken in when you bought it.
Just enjoy the rifle. I have 3 Tikka's and all are great shooters. No break in BS required.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Liar!! You have to shoot 1 round clean, 67 times, 2 round clean, 83 times, 3 round clean, 12 times, 4 round, clean 20 times, 5 round, clean. Once you do that, you must so a 10 round clean, 20 round clean, 30 round clean for a proper barrel break-in. ;p

No wonder my barrel won't shoot. I got lazy and skipped round 2 cleaning. Darn it.... time for a new barrel.

(OP, nice rig and nice shooting. I so wish they made them lefty....)

Have you used a chrono? It would be interesting to see once the barrel has about 150 rounds down it how much it speeds up.

Tikka actions are top notch, especially for the money

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

Nice! Tikka sure does make a very nice rifle.

No I don't have chrono yet. I found the rifle likes 140gr. My best group of the day was with IMR 4350, Noslar 140gr. It was slightly less than 0.3 moa. What a rifle.

Isn't it refreshing to have such accuracy from the factory? What is the barrel length and twist on your rifle?

                  That's 24" barrel with 1:8' twist rate.

Nice rifle but with 6.5, unfortunately, after you fire 2000 rounds, the barrel will reach it's peak performance and start spreading then tumble and keyholing at 2500 rounds. What's disappointing is that beretta does not make a Tikka replacement barrel available. You'd have to get an aftermarket made in US or elsewhere. Which in turn defeats the purpose of buying Finnish rifle in a first place.

Not sure Finland is a place most people go to get a good accurate barrel. Majority of the best barrel markers are here in the US. So shooting put a Tikka barrel is a good thing

Sako and Tikka are legendary for accurately made barrels. Hence the price you pay of course this is amongst other factors. Something you should have known already.

Either way, 2000+ rounds is a big number for the recreational shooter.

                          Nice rifle op, enjoy it

I know Criterion makes barrels for some modern Tikka rifles....perhaps there are others as well. Still new to much of this.

I do, thank you. It's why we have 3 rifles built of Tikka actions using Bartlien, Hawkhill and Proof barrels. It's very easy to have any barrel threaded for a Tikka. If you need a guy let me know
