First Bolt Action / PRS Build

    Hi CalGunners,

Decided to make a thread about the Customs Build I am putting together.

I been slowly buying the parts for this since last November or so. I setup an appointment with Randall ( AR15Barrels ) last month for Thursday 7/20 to get the barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, threaded to the action, and chopped down/muzzle threaded to 24" from 27".

Here are a list of the parts for the build:
Defiance Deviant Tactical 700 SA w/small firing pin
    Bartlein M24 Profile .264/6.5mm 1/8 Twist 5R Blank
    KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis
    TriggerTech Rem700 Special
    APA Little Bastard
    Atlas BT10 Bipod
    Badger Ordnance Medium High rings
Minox ZP5 MR4 5-25x / Vortex Gen 2 Razor HD EBR-2C 4.5-27x ( Currently stuck deciding between which to throw on and which to sell )

Once the build is finished, I'll be taking this out and testing with Factory Ammo ( Hornay 140gr ELD Match ) on Sunday 7/23. Really excited as it's been close to 6+ months piecing/planning this build.

Here's a pic of the parts

Keep us posted on your adventure. Barely got started a few months back and went the production route with a Tikka.

      Sweet.
Defiant Machine is ahead of schedule. My Hunter will be here this week. Was scheduled for November. All I have left to procure is the stock. Probably a McMillan A5. Need to slow the bleeding a bit so the stock will be the hold up.

You've got all the right parts for a match winner. Get it together and start shooting local then regional matches.

Looks like it will be a winner, OP. Randall does great work.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

            Thanks everyone!

I'll definitely keep this updated. I'll try to throw up some non-potato pictures after this is completed tomorrow.

Next meaningful update should be on Sunday afternoon, I'll post groups and first impressions of shooting this rifle.

I'd definitely be interested in this. This would be my long term plans, participating/competing in PRS style matches/events and also taking classes for ELR. Do you currently attend matches? I'd definitely like to meet up some current competitors/shooters to learn more and trying a local event.

Can't wait for the finished product. I wish I lived much closer so I too can have Randall build up a rifle for me.

He's worth the drive. I drove from Phoenix. From Livermoore I bet you could make the drive in under 5 hours easy.

Here's the first pic of everything together!

My friend is a photographer so I'll try to get better shots sooner than later.

Range day is Sunday so I'll definitely post pics and some thoughts on this setup after!

Thank you for the kind words friend!

Had a great time as always chatting with Randall. I'm positive that he's done a great job as usual and can't wait until Sunday.

One great benefit working with Randall is all the knowledge bombs that he drops. Learned so much today about other Custom shops, Chassis, and Machining in respect to Barrels/Bolt Builds.
