I have been himming and hawing for some weeks now about a light weight 6.5 Creedmoor rifle for hunting. I looked at all of the stand by rifles, Savage, Remington, Winchester etc. I went as far as ordering the Savage Lightweight Hunter from Buds. But I cancelled my order.
I continued my research and looked at McWhorter, Dakota, and other custom types. I wanted the quality of a custom, at the most affordable price. Something made in the USA, preferably out west, from a company that has a good reputation.
I went to Turners this afternoon, and spent quite a while handling Howas, Weatherbys, Remington's, Kimbers. Then Joe handed me the Christensen Arms Mesa. I looked at the fit, the finish, the Cerakote was beautiful the metal work top notch. So out came the cards, the FSC, the DL, and the VISA. It is THE most expensive bolt action purchase ever. $1379 all together.
But I will have a quality rifle in the same league as the customs, that will give me many hours of enjoyment. A2
