Ouch on price. CH4D and Whidden can do a little better for a full set, is it expected Hornady quality could be better than what comes out of CH4D and Whidden?Comment

Then why would anyone want Hornaday dies at $650 when CH4D is something like $450, Whidden about the same....Comment

I'm ordering two reamers for each chambering.
Does anyone else order resizer reamers?
From now on I'll order a "resizer" reamer when I order a chamber reamer. I've done it a few times and my home built dies have performed well.
I use the chamber finish reamer for barrels and seating dies. The resizer reamer is made at the same time as the finish reamer and they are a matched pair. A sized piece of brass drops completely into the seater die and bangs against the shoulder under gravity alone. The interesting thing is there is no perceptible slop long before the shoulder contact.
I got tired of breaking the vacuum seal after seating a bullet and drilled a bleed hole in the seater die at the edge of case neck.

Than give it a shot and order them at CH4D
Please do keep us posted / remind us when you have them in your hands
There's another member here who had 375 CheyTac dies made at Whidden
He calls them . . . uselessLast edited by Kingair001; 07-13-2017, 9:49 PM.WTB : Bren Ten - WTB : Wildey 45 & 475 MagnumComment

My guess would be a solid years wait if it's not in stock from CH4D.
And Focus makes good dies unfortunately he won't sell them to me.Last edited by LynnJr; 07-13-2017, 9:48 PM.Lynn Dragoman, Jr.

It looks like the Whidden dies have improved. I started with a set that you could buy from CheyTac LLC as there was little else available, and based on the components, it had a clear appearance of being outsourced to Whidden. The problem was that the brass at the time was only Bertram and Jamison. It isn't thick stuff, and the dies we basically the cheap style dies with an expander ball for neck sizing and a micrometer, but no match quality spring loaded fit sleeve to guide the bullet in straight. So, the dies over-worked the relatively thin brass necks, especially the Bertram, which was only 0.013" thick in the necks. It doesn't appear that they are selling those sets anymore. If Whidden has reconstituted it's dies to have the same design as their match dies in the smaller cartridges, it should be a good die. I ended up getting a set of Viersco dies for my CheyTac, and they are good dies, but it seems like it's hard to get stuff from Dave. I gave up on him for additional products.
I had a remarkably quick turn around getting my 50 DTC dies from CH4D, but I think the trick may be that you have to talk to the guy who speaks so country that he's hard to understand. He is certainly a talker, and that's probably why he has less time to make dies. I like the CH4Ds as well. The 50 seater with the micrometer has gotta be the biggest 50 BMG die out there. It's almost as large as my arm.Comment

Viersco never ever replied to my emails . . .
I called CH4D and they quoted me 9 months from the day they where gonna make a new batch of 375 CheyTac
No clue if they already started on the new run
At least they tell you 9 months instead of the 25 times '2 weeks' . . . 😂

Now...how the heck do I get 3-5 pieces of fired Peterson brass without a die to make the ammo, haha!!
Maybe buy it through Sniper Extreme...
Good thing ELR is so inexpensive, haha!!You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??
