    Muzzle Brake, Badger or APA

Looking to replace the Vais style muzzle brake on my Sako. They are threaded for M18x1 which limits me on what I can put on. Currently looking at the Badger Mini FTE or the APA Little B*. Any recommendations would be helpful.

The badger is easier to install and align as it has threads and a clamp.
You just thread it on until it bottoms out, then loosen until it aligns, then clamp it in place.

One of the smaller Kahntrol's would look sleeker if it was fitted by a gunsmith so that no washers or shims were required to make it align.

I checked with Kahntrol and unfortunately the 3 gun wont fit, which is the one i liked. So im limited to their bigger one which has M18x1 threads. Seems like Badger is used by a lot of the gun manufactures. Also the Mini FTE seems to be of decent size, not too big.

If Kahntorl does not make the smaller brake in 18x1, go with the Badger mini FTE.

How would you rate the APA Little B*?

              Overpriced.

I would go with a Ross Shuler 3 port or a badge thruster instead.
Almost any 5/8-24 threaded brake can be re-threaded to 18x1.

The Hellfire Self Timing Brake from Area 419 is another one to consider:

The HELLFIRE Self Timing Brake system was engineered from the ground up to reduce more recoil and muzzle flip, while being easier to install.

There might not be enough room there to open that brake up to 18x1 threads due to the size of the adapter.

Emailed them to see if they could get me anything in M18. Thanks for the recommendation.
