Burris Zee QD Scope Ring Issue

I use the Burris Zee QD scope rings to mount my scope on my 308 Gunsite Scout.

The issue is that after 20 or so rounds the QD levers work themselves loose. I really crank them down by hand but they always come loose eventually.

Am I doing something wrong here, are the scope rings defective, or is this just how QD rings work?

I've tried to contact Burris via email about this but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

Blue loctite is your friend. Even all the screws in my american defense quick release mount recommend it when assembling optic into mount

The adjusting nuts should have detents.
Your suppose to adjust the nuts and then push the lever down. Adjust tension this way.

If you were putting the lever down and then screwing the nuts down, you may have rounded the detents.

There are no detents and the lever is just goes around in a circle. It's not like a bike where you twist and then push down.

I thought about blue loctite but that would defeat the purpose of it being QD wouldn't it?

Yep.
Both my burris QD has detents. But mine are PEBR and tactical.

It is supposed to be like a bike were you screw the lever down then push it to lock it. If it just spins and doesn't tighten something is wrong.
It sounds like yours are defective and they come with a lifetime guarantee so send them back or call Burris.

Try reversing them so the recoil tightens the levers?

I think I figured out how to fix my problem!

There are no detents and it's not like a bike where you push it down to lock it. The lever is just a glorified wrench to drive in a nut. What I just discovered is that the lever is actually spring loaded. The lever will pull away from the nut so you can put rotate the lever so that the recoil will tighten the scope instead of making it loose.
