    ARC Mags

Found a nice surprise in the mail today. felt like an eternity since shot show but the ARC mags are finally here! Now I'm hoping Ted can finally get me the DLC coated mausingfield action that I have on order... then I'll be a happy camper.

    ARC Mags

Most here probably don't know what/why these are so cool... maybe put a 10rd AICS next to them in a photo

The magpul guys running in RPRs etc that don't get why the AICS is worth the $, might really get lost... glad to see you got your ARC mags

I have not seen these, or heard about them.

Are they AW mag length 10rd AICS mags?
That little bit of difference make ALL the difference in how easy they are to get into and out of the rifle in a low prone position.
I primarily use 5's because of it.

They're 10-round, double-stack, center-feed AICS-style mags. Like the AW and AICS had a love child.

Well you just blew up some people heads.

People hear AICS and think that is the "standard well size" Unfortunately, AW, PSR, AX vrs AT wells are not all the same, and a AX chassis does't take AW double stacked rifle mags. To complicate it further, a new AW chassis comes with a mag foot print that will work in AT Chassis, but NOT all systems like the RPR.

The AT style and AX Chasis mags (AW has a small hump that doesn't let them insert in some RPRs etc) SA/LA and Accurate mags are the single stack. As Randle pointed out, the 10 rounders are super long.. and can get in the way. I just have so many 5 rounders, I haven't ordered any of the ARCs, plus my bet, while a near work of art, will be a little rough in that talcum powder dust especial when it drizzles.

But if the OP just popped out an image of both, it sure would make things way easer... They do look very nice..

Not new as on 2017; and I had a typo it should've been AX
, but the new style chasis with the mag well cut for allowing 10 rounders or even 5's to be inserted from the side (at an angle) so that the sight picture can most often be retained durning mag changes.

These ship with an AT footprint mag but a second retention bump that does not let them slide into some mag wells - I put picks up in the RPR thread some time ago

Guys, it's not that hard to go to ARC's website and get the info:

"Purposefully designed for use with cylindrical actions such as the Mausingfield and the Remington 700 type short actions, the ARC mag offers a compact 10-round alternative to the Accuracy International CS type magazines.
10-round ARC Mag is only 3/8” (10mm) longer the 10-round mag AI AW.
Does NOT require an “AW cut” receiver.
Constructed from corrosion resistant and high strength stainless steel.
Cross section is identical to that of the AI CS and the AI AW mags designed for use in short actions.
Internal length is nominally 2.97 inches (75.4mm.)
An easy to remove floor plate makes disassembly and cleaning easy."

your completely missing the point --

I know what these AICS variants are, I have or have had most of them...

The point is, very few people on here have ever held an AW, AX or PSR much and for some, not even the single stacks, take your typical RPR user running a Pmag - they might not even understand why the metal mags are generally worth the money, much less why long mags are sometimes problematic.

To them, what is 3/8" more than a 10round AW? Hell what is a AW mag for most of them?

What they really would care about is how much shorter are they in practice compared to the typical SA 10rd or longer than the 5 round single stacks that work in most SA "AICS" compatible bottom metals, Chasis or systems like the RPR.

Ideally something in the system - so the value of what American Rifle Company did is clearer -- Ted's web doesn't give a good practical set of application photos..

ya, - also as I mentioned, the real test is going to be that talcum powder dirt/silt - maybe after a bit or drizzle or rain starts.. It kills many Jewel triggers, makes bolts really slow - but the AICS single stacks keep running.. still holding out to see what people are getting with these type conditions. Clean most mags run.. these look like a really nice concept...
