Tikka TRS-1 vs Bergara BMP

Id buy the Tikka. They are better built than Bergara or most other production rifles out of the box.

260 with a 123gr Amax would be a great combo for 1k yard steel.

Thanks. The action is smoother and folding chassis nice nice. Struggling with the short length of pull on the tikka. Same LOP is listed for both rifles but my tape measure is either broken or I see 3.5" difference which is odd. Technically 3" when tikka is extended to max length

Got to handle the Bergara at a store in Fresno yesterday. I'm impressed. Both have very smooth actions and decent triggers.

The Bergara has a more appropriate barrel length for a 6.5mm than the Tikka. I actually like the Bergara more, and that's coming from a Tikka m595 shooter!

The price difference also makes me consider the Bergara over the Tikka. The Bergara was going for $1350ish and the Tikka was $1600ish

Moreover, the Bergara uses a Savage style barrel nut so barrel swaps are much simpler.

The Tikka TRS-1 uses a Mcree G10 chassis. LOP is adjustable to at least 14.5". They didn't come in lefty, so I bought a Tikka, had it rebarreled to 6.5, and installed in a G10(pictured below). Take a look at the Tikka TAC-A1. It is based on the new T3X, comes in 6.5, and has a two stage trigger only available on that model.

thanks all. So i have held all the above mentioned. Passed quickly on the RPR. Bergara is a looker. Action was not as tight as i liked. Magpul AICS mag flopped around.
Tikka is a folder, tight action, slightly better trigger than the bergara. Sadly its in 20" barrel for the 308 or 260.

Looks like the best option is to go 6.5 in CTR and drop into a chassis that one can use AICS mags.
